The Oriente Museum in Lisbon celebrates Portugal’s many discoveries, former colonies and multiple excursions to Asia.

The permanent collection is divided into two areas. The first includes various pieces of exceptional value such as the range of 17th and 18th century Chinese and Japanese folding screens, various examples of highly rare Namban art, a porcelain collection or the significant collection dealing with the cultures of the peoples of Timor.

The second collection, the Kwok On Collection, includes over 1,300 pieces related to the performing arts, covering the region extending from Turkey right across to Japan. Special highlights are ritual pieces relating to Hinduism and Bhudism.
